With roots dating back to 1920 and the legacy of the historic Kockums shipyard in Malmö. The company was formally established in 1985 when Gustav Paulson acquired Kockums Automation. Many employees from the original shipyard continued with the new company, bringing decades of expertise that still shape our culture, values, and approach today.

Family-owned and led by Gustav’s children, Kockum Sonics has steadily expanded its portfolio while preserving its strong engineering heritage and entrepreneurial spirit. Headquartered in Malmö with 55 employees and local production, the company also operates a workshop in the Philippines and offices in the UK, China, Switzerland, and Denmark. A global team of 175 employees serving customers worldwide.
