Loading Computers
Kockumation is one of the world’s most experienced suppliers of loading computer systems for ships. A loading computer is a system used onboard vessels to calculate stability, strength, and cargo distribution, helping crews load ships safely and efficiently while complying with maritime regulations.
The company’s experience in loading computers began in 1990 within Kockum Sonics with the program LoadRite. In 2001, Loadmaster International was acquired and the LOADMASTER system was added. These programs were later combined into LOADMASTER X5, which became a major success and strengthened the company’s position in the global market.
Kockumation has continued to expand its expertise through acquisitions, including Marine Alignment in 2014 with the Easeacon loading computer, and the intellectual property of LOADSTAR from IBM in 2016, a system specialized for container vessels.
Today, Kockumation has delivered more than 10,000 systems worldwide, building a unique database of ship data that helps speed up new installations and retrofits. With a team of naval architects and software developers, the company continues to develop advanced loading computer solutions for the global shipping industry.
